Macugnaga is a wonderful alpine village at 1327 m at the base of east wall of Monte Rosa. The history of Macugnaga, \u201cPearl of Monte Rosa\u201d began in the twelve century when ethnicity Walser, Albanian group native of Valais, occupied this pleasant basin in Anzasca Valley. This was the beginning of Walser colonization around Monte Rosa. Today the Walser tradition is still visible in the original architecture and costumes that women wear on special festivals. Titsch language is still spoken by elderly into Dorf, a small settlement of 1200 B.C. with it\u2019s church, cemetery and the ancient secular \u201cTiglio\u201d tree. Running MEHT will be an opportunity to get in touch with a piece of Alpine history.

\nDue to limited accommodation, you will have a free camping area with WC and Showers. You can install only a tent, no Camper or Van accepted. This area is 1,5 km to MEHT Village and Start\/Finish Area.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

A "free camping" area where tents can be set up free of charge, with use of the restrooms at the Macugnaga sports field (Testa district). Parking is not permitted inside the sports field, but a parking space outside will be guaranteed.
